Designed in beautiful beech, each PENGUIN is unique. While their glossy, hand-painted backsides resemble shiny penguin feathers in sharp Antarctic, the front side appears in raw, untreated wood. The natural appearance reveals the unique lines of the raw materials that will only become more beautiful with time.
Clean with a damp cloth
Hans Bunde (1919 – 1996) was a well-known Danish silversmith. He trained in the internationally renowned company Cohr Silver and came to leave his mark on the company’s product line – especially through the 1950s, when Hans Bunde was the main designer of Cohr Silver.
The architect is known for his work in silver, where he stood out with his clean lines and graphic look, at once soft and razor sharp.
It started in 1954 as three unique gifts. Conceived and designed by silversmith Hans Bunde.
A handmade penguin for each of his beloved sisters. In the PENGUINS, Hans Bunde combined the love of his sisters and his fascination of the strange birds, known for their commitment to life-long, monogamous relationships.
Today, more than 60 years later, two members of the penguin family are finally ready to face the world.
Large and small, the ARCHITECTMADE Beech Wood Penguin Models stand side by side - as a tangible image of the unbreakable band of the family.
• Depending on how you arrange the PENGUINS – and whether they appear as singles or as a flock – the elegant figures symbolise majestic pride, family ties, friendship and love.
• As with all other types of art, the interpretation depends on the eyes of the beholder.
